Chelsea star Fikayo Tomori could join Leeds United on loan

According to Football.london, Chelsea star Fikayo tomori could join Leeds United on loan.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been hit with injuries in the center-back. With Gaetano Berardi, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente sidelined, Bielsa used Luke Ayling in defense.

Considering the opening of the Elland Road squad at the back, bringing in a new center-back in January only makes sense.

The 23-year-old made his first-team breakthrough last season. He did, however, fall into the hierarchy and did just three appearances during the current campaign.

Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma are the club’s preferred center-back partnership this season. With Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger ahead of him, Tomori’s chances of playing consistently are slim.

Now 23, Tomori needs regular playing time to continue his development. He’s unlikely to get it at Chelsea.

According to the Here We Go podcast (h / t Football.london), Frank Lampard wishes to send the youngster on loan. The club see their long-term future at Bridge, however.

Tomori became frustrated due to her limited opportunities. Having spent this season as a fringe player, he can’t wait to stop at Bridge. (h / t Metro)

Leeds are not the only Premier League side considering a loan for Tomori. Newcastle United are also in the fray land the defender.
