Clarkson welcomes the Saints in Exhibition


The Clarkson men’s hockey team, ranked 9th nationally by College Hockey News, kicks off the 2021-22 season when they host St. Lawrence this Saturday, October 2 in an exhibition game at Cheel Arena. This is a rare exhibition of two NCAA teams, but with uncertain boundary problems making the crossing of Canadian universities, the NCAA allowed the college teams to meet this year. The game can be streamed on ESPN + and streamed on B99.3.

Clarkson enters the season with a lot of anticipation as they return 8 of their top 10 scorers, have depth in the net, and bring a solid mix of freshman and graduate transfers. Zach Tsekos, named ECAC Pre Season All League, and Jack Jacome will be the captain of the Knights this year and bring scoring depth, as well as Alex campbell (Nashville ’19) and Anthony Callin. First-year student Ayrton Martino (Dallas ’21).

St. Lawrence, led by former Clarkson assistant coach Brent Brekke will look to build on a playoff streak last year that landed them as ECAC playoff champions. The Saints will be led by goalkeeper ECAC All preseason, Emil Zetterquist and Kaden Pickering, a native of Madrid, NY.

This match will be followed via live statistics, but the match will not count for any of the teams in consideration pairs and statistics will not count towards the total of the season the players.
