More than 3,000 young people in the Foundation’s social sports schools in Spain

The Real Madrid Foundation organizes a weekly program of extra-curricular activities for Soccer, basketball and values ​​for young people aged 5 to 17 in Spain. Over the past season, they have benefited more than 3,000 children under strict health care protocol at 43 football and basketball schools. These, alongside the 22 adapted and inclusive schools, allow children regardless of their circumstances or abilities, to learn the skills and values ​​of football or basketball.

These activities aim to build the capacities of participants in a healthy way as people, improve their interaction with others and instill values, leaving competition aside. Each program is adapted to a specific social sphere and a minimum of 15% to a maximum of 100% of the places are reserved for participants at risk of exclusion and have the support of a range of organizations including La Fundación “la Caixa” , Endesa, HSBC, GSK, Banco Santander, Ecopilas, Exolum, Liberbank, etc.

Regarding diversity, inclusive and responsive football and basketball social sports schools are run in collaboration with organizations specializing in the field of disability, including: Fundación ConecTEA, Down Madrid, Fundación ALAPAR and Atades Zaragoza. The projects are aimed at young people with Down’s syndrome, pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), intellectual difficulties and the autism spectrum, as well as groups of adults with general learning difficulties.

More schools
During the 2020-21 season, adapted football and basketball schools were consolidated through an alliance with the Fundación Ana Carolina Díez-Mahou and GSK’s support for children aged 7-14 with disabilities. respiratory. In addition, in Fuenlabrada there is a second adapted football school, which allows students up to the age of 20 to continue their full sports training with the Real Madrid Foundation.
